Pilates is a form of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920’s based upon 6 main principals: centering, control, concentration, precision, breath and flow. It focuses on stretching and strengthening the whole body to improve muscle strength, flexibility, balance and posture. Pilates works the whole body from the inside out.
Generally, any comfortable workout attire is appropriate. No shoes, but you may wear socks. It's a good idea to bring a towel, and a drink of water.
Red Zen is a fully equipped classical pilates studio located in the lovely Peronne Village on the south coast of Barbados. Our instructors are certified and trained to teach clients of all fitness levels regardless of any injuries or conditions. Red Zen not only offers pilates, we also have a wide range of classes to choose from such as Kettle Bell, Body Blast, TRX and Yoga to enable you with a well rounded fitness program. Our services include classes, private and semi private sessions in the studio or at your home, office or villa.
Want to workout like a ballerina? This class is inspired by ballet moves and mixes elements of pilates, yoga, dance, and functional training for an all-encompassing workout. Although it is high intensity, it is low impact and easy on your joints. Suitable for all levels.
A mixed bag workout combining TRX and kettlebells that’s different every time. Perfect for switching up your regular routine. Suitable for all levels.
A weighted workout intended to build and tone lean muscle. Empowering and strength building workout. Suitable for all levels.
This class incorporates use of the reformer, cadillac, tower, barrels and chair. Equipment based classes add resistance to the typical mat class, enhancing the ability to build strength, increase flexibility and mind-body awareness. Suitable for all levels.
The addition of TRX training to our mat class allows for more controlled movements, increased flexibility and core stability, building lean muscle, and developing functional strength. Suitable for all levels.
Classes are hatha based with a vinyasa flow incorporated. Exercise your mind and body as you move with your breath. Suitable for all levels.
24 hour notice is required for any cancellations.
All packages are non-transferrable, non-refundable, 1 person per package
All packages do have an expiration. 5 pack expires in 5 weeks and 10 pack expires in 10 weeks
